ThirdSight Media September Newsletter
A newsletter full of news today
Happy September! Here in Boston, the temperature has dropped and we’re looking forward to all the great things that autumn in New England brings. Including, as the weather continues to get colder, more time inside listening to audiodramas.
But for now, the sun is shining, the air is breathable, and we’ve got an issue of the ThirdSight Media newsletter full of news for you today!

The Audio Fiction Convention Fundraiser
The Audio Fiction Convention (TAFCON) is an event celebrating audio fiction and connecting the fans and creators in this artform. And they’ve reached their Kickstarter goal, meaning the convention is on!
This’ll be in Boulder, CO, USA in June 2026 and there’s a killer lineup of speakers, including our own Jeff Van Dreason. Other members of the ThirdSight Media production team will be there too, as well as many others in the fiction podcasting scene. As of now, the only way to get tickets is by backing the campaign on Kickstarter, which is now working to reach their first stretch goal.
At $15K, the convention will be able to provide digital access, record the panels to be watched later, and provide an ASL interpreter. This would allow for so much more accessibility to the convention, so we want to support them in reaching this goal!
It’s tough to put on an audio fiction convention. Trust us, we know. PodTales was a blast, but it requires so much. So if you want these events to exist and/or want to attend, consider backing the campaign.
The Perfect Sentence on Bandcamp
Speaking of Jeff Van Dreason, his newest work, The Perfect Sentence, is available to purchase over on Bandcamp. As Jeff puts it in the description,
An audio fiction concept album about grief, memory, nostalgia, truth, fiction, regret, and misinformation.
It’s a swirling, heartbreaking musical trip through love and regret that is available to listen to on Bandcamp or various streaming services. And if you’re the type who prefers physical media, Jeff also has a very limited number of physical copies of The Perfect Sentence available for sale in 180g double blue transparent vinyl with a gatefold sleeve.
You can also listen on music streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music!

And now you can also get the instrumental version as well, showcasing the work of composer Oliver Morris. With the highlight of the album being the instrumental version of the final track: The World’s Greatest Sinner, featuring musicians Oliver Morris, Ryan Emken, and James Johanson in a driving, haunting final plea.
Alexander Danner on Sound Design for the Amelia Project
When he’s not busy with Greater Boston and Exercises in Sound, Alexander Danner does sound design for other podcasts you probably listen to. And if you listened to The Amelia Project’s recent episode “Joseph and His Dreams,” then you heard an example of Danner’s thoughtful, unique sound design.
And if you’re the type who loves to hear about what’s going on behind the scenes, he’s written an entire article about the process of designing “Joseph and His Dreams” over on The Amelia Project’s Patreon. So whether you’re a sound designer yourself or you’re a fan looking for deeper connection with a show you love, you’re sure to get something out of it.
A New ThirdSight Media podcast in 2026
It’s been a big year at ThirdSight with new podcasts coming out every few months. (And never fear! The team is hard at work on Greater Boston’s final season and we’ll have more information about that for you soon.) And now we have North County Paranormal Unit, a new podcast coming from Greater Boston production team member Amanda McCormack in 2026.
The only thing standing between Central Massachusetts and the forces of darkness is this group of underfunded, over-caffeinated investigators. How doomed are we, really?
When Gabriella, a recent college graduate, gets an invitation to join her cousin at the local branch of the Foundation for Paranormal Studies, she’s skeptical. Hunting ghosts and monsters isn’t what she had in mind after school. But she needs a job and this one is available, so she takes it.
But then her first case goes horribly wrong. Injured and confused in the aftermath, Gabriella is forced to choose sides within the team. But will she make the right choice when the truth isn’t as obvious as it seems? And what will happen if she chooses incorrectly?
North County Paranormal Unit is the audiobook version of the first book in McCormack’s ongoing paranormal workplace series. It’s narrated by Leslie Gideon (The Van, Hallway to Nowhere, Greater Boston) and audio engineered by Brad Colbroock (The Way We Haunt Now, Someone Dies in This Elevator, Shelterwood).
We’re looking at an early 2026 release date for North County Paranormal Unit, so we’ll have more information for you in upcoming newsletters!
Phew! Lots of news in this newsletter. We’ll wrap up with another reminder that TAFCON is still raising funds for their in-person convention this month, so if you have the means, go check out their Kickstarter.
Everybody take care of yourselves. We’ll be back in your inboxes soon.
